What we learned at IDEA.

Submitted by admin on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 7:58am.

What we learned at the annual IDEA convention in French Lick last weekend is that the Obama campaign and the Indiana Democratic party are putting together an amazing state wide boots on the ground campaign.

Never before have I seen a national campaign so well organized and so committed to Indiana and all the Democrats and Progressives running throughout the state.

And the reason the Obama folks mentioned that they decided to put so many resources into Indiana is the level activism they saw at the grassroots level.

I believe what they saw was in no small part the activism, hard work and enthusiasm of all us who are part of Indiana Progressives and all of the progressive organizations we work with such as DFA, Indiana Equality and HCHP.

Evan Bayh for VP

Talk about Evan Bayh as a potential running mate for Barack Obama has been heating up over the past several days.

Among Progressives Senator Bayh may have a mixed record, but no one can deny his ability to appeal to a wide demographic of voters including many who originally supported Senator Clinton.

This may be just the balance the Obama ticket needs to broaden its appeal to the both the red states and so called blue collar voters.
