Indiana Progressives formed right after the elections in 2004.  A group of volunteers who had met while campaigning for various Democrats decided that progressives in Indiana needed a statewide organization.  With the help of Shaw Friedman who was the state chair for Howard Dean's campaign Indiana Progressives was born.

The goals of Indiana Progressives are simple

• Help Progressive Candidates get Elected 
• Help Promote Progressive Policys
• Coordinate activity between affiliated progressive groups
